It was a surprise to some, but it’s true that -before last Monday- I had never eaten a gingerbread man before. But now that I have treated myself to several in an attempt to make up for those deprived years I can safely say that I love the magnificent bastards.

Now I want nothing more than to live in a gingerbread house and drink gingerbread tea from a gingerbread pot and have my very own gingerbread nurse to treat my gingerbread burns.
